Overview
EliteS Executive Search is currently supporting a cutting-edge biotechnology start-up in their search for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This is a unique opportunity to join a Series A-funded company positioned at the forefront of stem cell, organoid, and AI-integrated drug discovery.
The company is based in Shenzhen’s Longhua District, an emerging innovation hub, and is seeking a seasoned technology leader to drive the company’s R&D strategy and scale its scientific capabilities globally.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- PhD in Biology or a related life science field
- International academic or research background preferred
- Strong commitment to relocate or remain long-term in Shenzhen (minimum 5 years)
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
Key Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in stem cell or organoid research
- Familiarity with AI applications in life sciences
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in early-stage or high-growth environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and manage multidisciplinary R&D teams
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and scientific problem-solving skills
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders, including global academic partners
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years in cellular R&D or biotech research
- At least 3 years in early-stage drug discovery preferred
- Track record of publishing in high-impact scientific journals
- Previous experience with international pharmaceutical companies, biotech start-ups, or organoid research is highly desirable
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s mid- to long-term R&D roadmap
- Lead the R&D team in designing and executing innovative product pipelines
- Manage the lifecycle of new R&D initiatives, from project design to delivery
- Solve critical scientific and technical challenges in new drug development
- Build strategic collaborations with domestic and international research institutions
- Foster academic and technical growth within the R&D team
